I agree. The incredible detail certainly builds on the premise. US greenbacks with Nazi eagles and other symbols and called Marks. In 1962 mail boxes were olive drab and in one scene a character walks past a mail box and the Nazi eagle is embossed on its olive drab side. And on and on. Stuff that is on screen for seconds and yet taken altogether you certainly get the feeling this could have happened. I hesitate to call it entertainment because it is a grim tale of a living nightmare. Chilling but very worthwhile because nothing was written that we would for sure win WWII.

I thought it was OK. I will give it a go again.

Though IMO the premise that Germany alone could take and hold largely rural (as well as armed, belligerent, and xenophobic) stretches of the mid 20th century South is a bit ludicrous.

It would definitely be another "Spanish Ulcer".

If they won the war because they had atomic weapons they could have said we will continue to use them until you give up.

I started to watch, then realized my wife would like it too so I will wait to watch it with her.

Vichy France.
That wasn't occupied for several years.

The show also indicates a large number of American Nazis.

I watched the pilot and was impressed; it's a good story and the addition of design like the posters added a lot. I find it a more depressing story than "Fatherland" because at least in that there is a USA Bloc as a counterbalance to Nazi Europe.

I'd also say that – with the greatest of respect to the rural South – that belligerence might not have survived the brutal reprisals that would have been the response to any kind of armed resistance. I don't think any of us who live in countries that were not occupied in WW2 should be at all confident in our speculation as to the level. either of resistance or collaboration had we been occupied…..
