The target date for having operational railguns was set for 2016 over a decade ago. Not sure what the current status is. |

Same displacement as the Graf Spee, too. 14,000 tons is one hell of a big "destroyer," it's about the same size as the WW2 vintage Baltimore-class CAs! |

The Zumwalt will not have rail guns, at least initially. The follow on's should have them. |

That is good to hear. I hope it works as advertised, since the USN could use some more technological advantages right now, assuming we can afford them. |
