I need to pick the brain of some one who if familiar with the Warmaster system. I never got into it when GW had the line out and was wondering, How many infantry figures came on a strip? How did you mount the figures (one or two strips to a base?) How many bases made up a unit? Were archer figures mounted differently to a base? (Such as one or two strips to a base and the same number of figures as an infantry base? There was one fraction, Brentoinains I think, does any one remember what figures they had in Warmaster? I thank you for your help in advance and may need to ask you more questions later. |

Basically you can put them on the base any way you like. it is the base that matters. Archers are usually based just like other infantry. I used eight or ten figures on a 40x20 mm base, in two ranks. Skirmishers would have less figures on the same sized base. Shock cavalry were usually based facing the 20mm edge. I can't recall the exact make up of a Bretonnian army but it would have been mostly heavy or light cavalry and archers, just like the WHFB army. The lists will be available online somewhere. This one looks promising. link |

Infantry and Cavalry units have three bases. Infantry bases are 40 wide x 20 deep. They have 2 uncut strips of figures per base except for archers who have 2 strips cut into pairs of figures, 8 figures per base. Cavalry bases are 20 wide by 40 deep. They usually have 4 figures per base. Monsters and Engines have one base per unit, 20 wide by 40 deep. Commanders, heroes and magic users can be any shape really but a single 40 x 20 will suffice. See my blog for pictures. link Here's an example of using non-GW figures. link |

Let me take this opportunity to plug all my Warmaster army counter sets and starter army lists on my blog. ordinarygaming.blogspot.com I'm a bit confused about your Bretonians question. What info on them are you looking for? |

Characters (Mounted) Grail Knights Knights of the Realm Knights Errant Mounted Squires (Foot) Men-at-Arms Archers Peasants Trebuchet I think that's it. Most can be easily proxied with historical figures. |

Archer stands are they length wise like infantry stands(40mm front) or are they width wise like cavalry stands (20mm front)? How many stands form a unit or company? |

40mm front. 3 stands per unit for everything but the trebuchet. |
