So i'm looking at minden miniatures, great company, DAF ia great to deal with. How ever this past year the krone as weakened massively against both the pund and dollar. I've orderd only in punds this year. So i got a shook. I kinda come to terms with the pund. But damn, last year 1 dollar was between 6 and 6.5 kroners. Today its 8.3. A unit of 12 cav from minden used to cost 432kr. Now it cost 603kr. DAF of course hasn't changed the price, yet for me the price is much higher. |

I am finding the same with the weak NZ dollar. I've ordered from the US and UK this week and got a shock at how little I was able to buy. |

Aussie $ has also plunged in recent times. Fortunately, I have unused Euros and US$ on debit cards that I got when the Aussie $ was much higher. In my case, I just didn't spend all the money on the cards when on trips to Europe and the USA, but you could deliberately use debit cards loaded with appropriate currencies as a way of hedging against future currency fluctuations, particularly as there is not much value in leaving money in the bank. Of course, that isn't going to work if your home currency is already down the toilet, although it might yet plummet further. By the way, what's the capital of New Zealand? Answer: about $5. USD Boom, boom. |
