What was the best World War II movie in 2014? I'm only listing American-made films, you are welcome to add others made elsewhere.

(a) Walking with the Enemy
(b) Fury
(c) The Monuments Men
(d) Unbroken
(e) ____________

I vote for Fury, but I am a little biased because one of my uncles was a tank commander in World War II. Two of my dad's other brothers fought in World War II as well; one was on the USS Helena at Pearl Harbor and the other served in the infantry, but since none of the other movies you mentioned had anything to do with either of them, I will go with Fury.

Fury (only one I saw)

Hmmmm, have only seen Fury, so really can't say.

I've seen the previews for C & D.

Don't have a clue about A.

D is the real choice for me, an I'm a tanker, sorry about Fury but it only pleased me in parts. Maybe a different director would have done it better.

For others there is American Sniper and the documentary Korengal. I haven't watched Field of Lost Shoes yet, but it might also rank up there.

Fury. And that is the only one I saw because it was free On Demand.

American Sniper and the documentary Korengal

WWII?

This a very specific question! I haven't seen any of them.

I think the last decent "war" film I saw was Hill 60, although Zero Dark Thirty was very good.

Have only seen (c) The Monuments Men and only on the small screen (TV)

I only saw Fury, so really not able to choose.

I have seen Fury,Monument Men and Unbroken. I liked all of them. But if I had to make a choice, I would go with Unbroken.

With an Oscar, an AFI award, twenty other awards and eighty-three nominations, the critical world seems pretty certain that "The Imitation Game" was far and away the best WWII movie of 2014.

'Fury' was more my level, though.

I didn't see the first one mentioned but I saw the other three. Of those I did see none of them even come close to the best WWII movie ever made: "Patton".

I loved the four characters in Fury. I was sad when three of them bought the farm at the end, as this would've made a great series. Sort of like the Nick Fury and/or Sergeant Rock comic book characters.
