General Mack of the Austrian service surrender his troops at Ulm the day before Trafalgar. 60,000 Austrians were lost in that campaign. Napoleon went on to take Vienna, then defeat the Russian/Austrian combination at Austerlitz.

England remained dominant at sea, and Napoleon on land. A long way to go to the end.

Silly me! I meant to type 1805. Frankly, working as I do now, I feel like Mack just 10 years later, as though it had been 2005!

I don't think the unfortunate General Mack will ever be forgotten. And the same goes for Austerlitz, of course.
