I've started taking some baby steps toward assembling a Soviet Lend-Lease Tank Battalion. The Firefly Collection book Comrade Emcha – Red Army Shermans of WW2 has provided me with some decent photos and color plates to work with. Primary issue I've had is the Battlefront only offers the early dry stowage, small hatch, 75mm M4A2 and the later wet stowage, large hatch, 76mm sans muzzle brake M4A2 leaving a lot of the mid production out. I've done a little kit-bashing and have managed to now create the dry stowage, applique, large hatch 75mm variant and swap out some muzzle brake guns as well.
The nice thing about the Battlefront miniatures is the parts scale well between their resin/metal and plastic miniatures making swapping parts a lot easier. Now I just have to get painting on the beasts. More at the blog: link |
