A straightforward poll question, for post-WWII, Cold War era Soviet Armor (1950s – 1980s). Which manufacturer and paint color(s) do you prefer for Soviet Armor Green, in an acrylic paint (don't worry, there's already a separate poll for enamels)? |

I use a wide variety for modern Soviet green, to account for weathering etc, but it should be a very dark green, and did not vary from the later WW2 colour. So I will be using my PSC Russian Armour spray can, then highlighting with the ubiquitous Vallejo Russian Green. |

Mako 11: Mig Ammo Jienmez does some good paints and their rusts and weathering sets are great too. link Cheers and good gaming. Rod Robertson |

Ak and Ammo from Mig do an excellent range of russian greens for the second half of the 20th century. |

I have either: 1. Sprayed with PSC Russian armour, washed with black and dry brushed with Vallejo Russian Uniform or… 2. Undercoated black, slapped on a heavy coat of Vallejo Russian Green then dry brushed with Russian Uniform. Can't really tell the difference now! |

Thanks for the suggestions. |

I'd say Zvezda – buy colours for Russian armour from Russia ;) Not sure if anybody carries the paints in US, and Zvezda Ehglish-language site is half-baked at the moment.. link |

Thanks, Barin. Yea, I'm not sure either. Can't say I've ever seen Zvezda paints anywhere, even on-line, here, but I haven't been trolling a lot of modeling sites of late, either. I have also seen the references to the Mig Ammo ones, which appear to be quite nice, and highly recommended as well, but again, other than mail order, availability may be an issue. Most of the stores here stock the usual: Testor's, Tamiya, Vallejo, and Humbrol, and few others. |

PSC Russian Green, with highlights of Russian uniform, and the odd other shade, not all shades were exact! Don't forget a healthy amount of dust and mud! Tally Ho! |
