Anyone know where I can get Frostgrave scenery/terrain in the USA? Also, if I decide to build it from scratch (instead of buying pre-made scenery), anyone know a good online tutorial on how to make frozen-looking ruins and other frozen-looking terrain? I don't want to spend more than $100 USD initially on the terrain, and my goal is to have 3' x 4' of terrain eventually, but to start off with I want at least 2' x 2' of terrain. I have never made wargaming terrain before. Thanks. |

Do yourself a favor and go to Fat Dragon Games and buy the Ravenfell set. If you buy it all plus the Ruins it will run about $30 USD and they are easy to print on cardstock and assemble. |

For making your own, this YouTube channel is a great resource for the basic techniques you'll need: YouTube link |

You need a trip to Home Depot for: half inch pink foam Elmers wood glue (the yellow stuff) Tube sand – mixed sized sand found in the contractors section Spackle or plaster of paris oops paint in grey or brown – you can get $1 USD quarts of paint that did not mix to the right color fresh pack of exacto blades Cut the pink foam into building walls and floors. Use the Elmers to glue with toothpicks as pins. Cover with Spackle, or mix 1 part Plaster of Paris + 1 part paint + 1 part water. The mix will cover and protect the pink foam. Paint alone will take forever to cover the pink. Sand the bases for texture. Now you have a ruined city for about $35. USD |

Agree with the paper option. For $30 USD and an afternoon doing cut and paste you can fill a table. Plus, if you have the skills, you can modify the pieces for more variety. So change the color of the shutters and roof on a house, for example, so it looks different from the one down the street. Or heck, just paint the paper if you need to. They might get a bit worn with use, but are cheap to replace and you can slowly add in more substantial pieces made from MDF or resin. |

If your have $100 USD budget, I reccomen you get 2 Hirst arts molds and some Merlin's Magic Dental plaster. You'll easily be able to make 3' x 4' of terrain that looks great! See: link Also my first effort with fieldstone molds: link

Terrain can be built for almost nothing if you get creative. Cardboard, household filler, matchsticks, usefully shaped bits of plastic packaging, etc. can all be utilised to make buildings for pence (or cents). Use household paint or cheap craft acrylics to keep costs down. Terragenesis is a great resource of tips and tricks link I've done a lot of winter terrain, not for Fristgrave but for historical gaming, and there are two tips I'd pass on for making your terrain look nice and wintry. Get some snow flock, or modelling snow, from eBay – a decent size bag shouldn't cost much more than £5.00 GBP-£10 or whatver that is in dollars. To simulate snowfall on your finished pieces I suggest spraying downwards with hairspray and then using a sieve to sprinkly on the snow before fixing with another spray or two of the hairspray. Secondly drybrush pure white around the lower third or so of walls, this really helps give a look of chill frostiness. |

Much of the stuff featured in the rulebook comes from the Battlefield in a Box series, namely the city ruins sets. |

Just search ebay for Frostgrave. It's still manageable with 20ish hits, not the 2000 that other games would generate. I have been listing items now for awhile. |
