Eureka has reopened it's 300 club for a new range of Italian Colonial troops for East Africa WW2. If enough pre-orders are made the range will be commissioned! Get your order in now if you want this range to be made.

How do Eureka's 15's compare to Peter Pig and BF? Are they closer to the 18mm mark like many companies or actually 15mm?

That's good news. I hope it goes well. I might order a few myself.

IIRC, Eureka's 15mm are close to BF in size and bulk, close enough to mix in the same platoon. Peter Pig are a bit smaller, generally.

Peter Pig and 18mm ww2 Eureka are my favourite match for size, since they are ranges made by single sculpters but FOW figures are generally a good match too.

I consider Eureka to be the smallest figures but then I only own about 500 eureka figures and 5000 peter pig so what would I know.

Eureka are generally slightly smaller than BF. I am expecting the figures to be a bit taller than Eureka's Italian ranges as the soldiers seemed to have been taller than the Europeans troops and they are mostly wearing tall hats as well.

Hi Martin,

As Freddie mercury says in 'death on two legs'

…and I want more…..

If they are like their other WWII US Navy or North Koreans, they will be very close to Peter Pig and Battlefront.
And they will be very nice.

would these Italian Askari figures be close enough to use for black shirts with fez?

Leadgend09 Nov 2015 12:03 a.m. PST

Blackshirts had pretty much the same uniform and equipment as normal Italian infantry. For East Africa that means just use Bersaglieri figures with the feathers trimmed off their pith helmet. The same for the Grenadiers. The Alpini have a different feather but are otherwise the same.

Or use pp figures with their separate fez heads
