For my Russian wooden buildings I would normally prime in black then start the layering up in progressively lighter browns with craft paints and brushes.

However, I'm going to skip the black altogether and use this Rustoleum product as my base.

Will I regret it?

Buildings are a mix of hard plastic and some are resin with tin/pewter pieces. All will be soaped, rinsed and dried before hand.

I use it all the time as a primer.

Wait Winston, I thought you only walmart primers? ;-)

I buy Rustoleum at Walmart.

I thought you did. :-) I'm just messing with you since you made me a convert two years ago.

I am really happy with their $0.98 USD can of flat black. It goes one very thin and is just a really great primer to use.
