Has anyone played this yet?

Yep, it's okay to cure 5 minutes boredom.

It's fun!

Realistic? Not so much. Fun? Yep. The graphics are very good. The action is quick. Figuring out the strengths of the different ships provides some challenges. My brother, my nephew and I play it every Monday, using Skype without the video to communicate.

Enjoying it so far. Gunnery seems pretty straightforward, but I'm trying to learn how to conduct effective torpedo attacks. Carrier ops look like fun as well. I know the Warthunder guys are also working on a naval combat game, looking forward to that as well. Warthunder differs from the WOT hit point based system in that Warthunder uses a component damage system based in fairly detailed physical models, ballistics, etc. For example, in WOT you score hit points on a tank, in Warthunder they model armor penetration and the effects on the crew and internal components, sometimes resulting in a one-shot kill, crew casualties, etc.

I have had a couple one shot kills on me when the magazine is penetrated and my ship goes boom. Nothing like a battleship going up in flames with one hit. Actually the last guy who did that to me, was just as flustered and really didnt know what to say.

I've been really enjoying it. After trying all the classes, I like the cruisers the best, then carriers, then battleships, and destroyers last (though now that they nerfed visibility against destroyers, they might be worth trying again).

Realism 0%
Fun factor 100%

Torpedoes are very hit or miss for me (pun intended) either I seem to hit with almost every shot, or I miss everything

I have watched videos, but I like the War Thunder damage model better at least for tanks and AC.

I am more of an age of sail guy when it comes to naval games and I have been Alpha testing this game:

It is scheduled for early access on Steam in a few months.
