I've heard they are a little small. What ranges would they mix well? I like dwarves that aren't GWish, if you know what I mean.

They are not as rotund as some dwarf models but they match quite well with my older citadel 80s vintage dwarfs in terms of height. To be honest they are so cheap they are great for bulking out an army with a few character models from different manufacturers.

That's what I'm wanting to do, just trying to find front rankers who have a similar style of body, height and armor.

SgT. Major has some, am hoping Hasslefree and GW's LOTR/Hobbit figures are similar enough……

With a decent paint job and a viewing distance of 3 feet and you should be fine.

Agreed. These are not small figs. There metal Grenadier counterparts are even a little larger.
