…weapons depots: commander "Russian air strikes have destroyed the main weapons depots of a U.S.-trained rebel group in Syria, their commander said on Wednesday, in an expansion of Russian attacks on insurgents backed by foreign enemies of President Bashar al-Assad. The Liwa Suqour al-Jabal, whose fighters have attended military training organized by the Central Intelligence Agency in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, was also hit last week by Russian raids as Moscow began its air campaign in support of Damascus. New strikes targeted the group's main weapons depots in western Aleppo province and completely destroyed them late on Tuesday, its commander Hassan Haj Ali told Reuters on Wednesday via an Internet messaging service…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand |

The Russkies would be remiss in their duties to keep Assad in power if they don't go after all the rebels, regardless of who trained and equipped them or their affiliation and "level of extremism." |

Now I wonder what would happen if U.S. planes bombed Assad's forces? |

I have no problem with this action. Western meddling in foreign civil wars rarely ends well, and most so-called "moderate" groups wind up dead, run off, or joined up with the jihadis. |

That seems like the Editor playing troll bait for the "No cheerleading" rule. Nah, Bill was just filling in for Mako11 while he's in the DH. With Russia committed in backstopping Assad, any attack on his forces will likely result in the collapse of "deconfliction" at best and direct conflict at worst. Then ISIS would be the one eating popcorn while watching the fireworks. |

And the surprise is ? The Russians as going to do what they want. For number of reasons. And Bill … he just likes to confuse us to keep it lively and the TMP hit numbers up … I wonder who will get Dawg Housed over this.
Since I just got out of the DH, and had a lot of threads to post on to catch up … I'm guessing I'll be back in the DH by dawn … |
