Shopping at one of the hobby and craft stores here in the U.S. I found what will be a huge supply of "smoke and flame" marking. A package of bright orange and a package of black "wool" fibers for making Halloween spider webbing decorations. Pinch off a little orange and about twice as much black, twist them together and fiddle with them a bit and you have a pretty good smoky flame to wrap around a "destroyed" mini.

The packages were called "Halloween Hay" and sold at the "Michael's" craft store in Denton, Texas for $2.99 USD. It is a pretty big (more than a double handful) bag of the polyester fibers. I have seen some "glow in the dark" and white fibers at some other stores. I would like to find a bright yellow. I may try the "glow in the dark" which is sort of yellowish to see what it looks like.

Thought I would share for those who might be interested.

Sounds cool!

I did a quick Google search for an image:

That's the stuff. I was happy to find it. I think it should be shared across more than some of the Sci Fi discussions groups but did not want to be obnoxious about it. This stuff is useful for all wargamers.

That's what the "in General" category is for….

Or glue them to washers that have been spray painted black. I'm always looking for good destroyed tank markets. Have to try these.

Hey, just how big is the market for destroyed tanks? Inquiring minds want to know.

I like explosion markers for barrages. Really big explosion/fires to mark destroyed targets of various periods, like horse and musket artillery batteries when caissons blow up, etc.

Charcoal formed into the shape of tanks would be ideal. Just sprinkle some lighter fluid on them & ignite with a fire source.

Depends on if you are the shooter or the shot.
