One of our recent 28mm Napoleonic games was the Napoleonic scenario from the Black Powder rulebook.
A report can be found on the now ex teenagers Blog here- Link Thanks for looking. |

There are some wonderful photos here. The surprise for me was being able to model the French artillery train, with the traces and yet with split teams. I tried for ages to think how that could be done…and never succeeded. Now I see it……….. ……. how obvious!!!!!!!!! Brilliant modelling and painting here. I have learnt something really useful here. Thanks |

They belong to Chris, he's full of ridiculously good ideas. Wait until you see his skirmisher bases! |

Nice modular table and mighty fine looking miniatures. Also seems to have been a very nice game. Good stuff! |

Thanks for the comments gents, i'll pass them on. Still catching up on reports of recent games!! The new skirmisher bases were not in use during this game but you will get a look in due course. The ones in the report aren't bad though i guess! |

Sounds good, but I didn't see a picture that showed how. Link please? Thanks, Ed |

Follow the link in the OP, go to picture no. 23, and look very closely – 'cos he'll only show this once… |

Guys, Lovely game. Just one question. At one point the cavalry is shown attacking and routing French columns of infantry. Should the infantry not be using Must form Square rule? If now how do you handle a cavalry versus infantry charge. |

In our (heavily) amended Black Powder Napoleonic house rules, the 'Must Form Square' rule is not used. Infantry have the option to form square or not in response to a cavalry charge. If they elect to stand instead of forming square then they can inflict closing fire. However, because our amendments severely punish infantry v cavalry in hand-to-hand if they are not in square, not many players are brave (or foolish) enough to do that ;) The Black Powder Napoleonic house rules and amendments we use are still available here on my old club's website: - link But they are quite extensive. In fact they now have about as much in common with 'Black Powder' as 'Hail Caesar' does. Still very quick, easy and fun to use but with much more Napoleonic 'flavour'. More pics of the same game here: - link Chris |

Beautiful. Great photography of great minis… And isn't the panoramic option on the iPhone the best?!:) |
