FYI, the Council of Five Nations gaming convention is this weekend in Schenectady, NY. There will be a mix of miniatures (both historical and sci-fi/fantasy), card and board games there. Depending on your travel route, the Saratoga, Bennington and Hubbardton battlefields, along with West Point and Fort Ticonderoga, are all about an hour's drive away. For further details, please go to swa-gaming.org/. One more convention in the Northeast for "Cranky Yankees" who passed on Historicon. Hope to see you there. |

Well, not exactly. For those of you who attended and enjoyed the SWA's gaming conventions in the past, here is an update: Council of Five Nations, now re-named Council Gaming Convention, was cancelled for 2022. SWA hopes to bring Council back in 2023. So much for the bad news. The good news is that there will be an SWA Gameathon this Saturday at Proctor's Theater in Schenectady, NY. With 17 games on the schedule, including RPGs, boardgames and miniatures, the Gameathon promises to be a "mini-Council." Miniatures games range from French and Indian War to Modern Microarmor. FYI, the old "Council of Five Nations", now called "Council 42 Gaming Convention", is this weekend in Schenectady, NY. Whatever you call it, Council has plenty of fun games on the schedule. Thanks, Rusty. It's the SWA's first convention in a couple of years due to the "Covid Gap." I hope the weekend goes well for Council and all its gamers. We'll see. |
