As part of my Pulp Alley Space Trek campaign, I'm looking at recreating the 'Galileo 7' episode of Star Trek.

What I'm after is some figures that are larger than 28mm ideally armed with spears or stones to make a league.

I found some 54mm cavemen in the US, but the shipping to the UK was horrendous. Other alternatives I've looked at are GW ogres or Savage Orcs.

I'm open to any suggestions!

Are dollar stores over there call 3/4 of a pound stores?

The only TimMee figures Amazon Uk carries are the TimMee Legendary Battle 70mm Fantasy Figures and they cost just over £30.00 GBP

I did see the TimMee cavemen on Amazon US, the only thing putting me off is that I don't need 48 of them!

I should try a £ shop over here.

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

Marx 54mm cave men are much better. Could not find you a UK distributor though.

Just found these Ogres from Otherworld Miniatures (UK). Not sure how the size would compare with 28mm figs, but I'm assuming these would be notable larger. I quite like the Ogre Mage – might have to get one for DAISHO games!

Poundland (in the UK) have some 60mm 'Monsters'

I'm sure I have seen images on the LAF forum.

You can also try 'Monster-in-my-Pocket' toys – some of these work quite well.

Just noticed the Troglodytes from Otherworld Miniatures!

They look like suitable GORN for some other scenario down the road!

Here you go…. Otherworld Ogres and Hill Giants compared to 28mm Old Glory Vikings.

Thanks for the suggestions and pictures.

Those ogres and hill giants certainly look big enough to pin down a shuttlecraft! They could also be useful for Frostgrave.

In Old Glory's Ghost fantasy line, they have large ogre figures called Ice Trolls. They are about 50% taller, & much wider than normal 28mm figures.

Here are 2 different websites that show some pictures

Unfortunately, the Old Glory UK doesn't seem to carry the fantasy figures.

I love those Otherworld Hill Giants. I would use them as Laestrygonians for my Greek mythology project if they weren't so bloody expensive!
