Really nice looking figures especially the dismounted ones. I don't know too much about the Japanese army but I didn't think they had such big horses relative to the size of the men or is it just an optical illusion.

Need to figure out something to do with these guys for my VBCW collection.

Painted in GPO grey they would make 'Post Office Horse'………….

Gorgeous sculpts and delectable paint !

Gotta agree with Bob, horses definitely look way oversized.

The horses look spot-on to me. Too many wargame horses are undersized Shetlands.

Happy you enjoyed them my friends!. (smile)

I remember reading in couple of places that the Japanese cavalry were mounted on undersized horses, which effected their performance during the RJW..

Lovely stuff. Who is the sculptor on these?

Can we get the mounted figures without the horses?

spontoon04 Oct 2015 4:51 p.m. PST

@ Jemima; Except when you need undersized Shetland Ponies!!!!

Assume that opposition in the form of cossacks must be not too far away.

IIRC, Paul's BEF WW1 cavalry for Mutton Chop / Empress is in the design stages and this would fit the VBCW bill with no conversion or imaginative back script.

huevans011 thanks much for the heads up on the forthcoming British cavalry. Will there be dismounted ones also?

However my point on the Japanese is that these guys are so beautiful that I want to work them into my VBC W games. Mounted telegraph delivery boys, mounted royal mail rifles, mounted HM prison guards. With the dismounted option as well. I actually have all those on foot, maybe some mounted would be nice but the telegraph boys go on bicycles.

So who else in the VBCW universe have those distinctive pillbox-shako hats? BUF Storm Detachment units?
