That brown on that reproduction uniform of the 6th Cacadores is a lot lighter than any think I have seen before for the Cacadores.

Is it possible that it's an original , and very faded ? Perhaps if we have a Portugese member they can find out ?

I will be happy to be proven wrong,
I have never see an ordinary soldiers kit kept in that good a nick and it being that old, officers yes.

If it had faded would not the yellow cuffs be a washed out colour ?

A Portuguese member my be able to clear this up ?

It does seem odd that the yellow facings are still such a rich tone, if the brown is as faded at it appears to be (at least based on previous depictions of cacadore uniforms I've seen).

A votre service mon ami!… many times when we see original uniforms are not exactly what some uniforms books show… (smile)
