I saw on one site the images of the box had "New Arrival" and "Clearance" tags on them at the same time! The ships look nice. Shame this game tanked so fast! I picked up a box set cheap. I hope the ground troop game doesn't implode like this one did. Is there any hope for the game at this point? |

An online retailer using the label "clearance" doesn't indicate anything but a discount. My FLGS is selling X Wing at a discount as well, does that mean that has failed too? |

30% is a good discount. 50% is a mark they aren't going to carry it any more. I'm seeing the boxed set was marked down to $84. USD |

@mako, they are inspired from the video game. They are supposed to look dull and low tech compared to the alien ships. |

Might just be that retailer getting out of it. Sometimes a game won't succeed in a specific location, even if it's doing okay overall. |

…Don't see this competing well with X-wing and Armada…
especially since the ships are unpainted, the entry price tag is steep, StarWars movies are coming out, and Halo enthusiasts are video-gamers before table-top gamers…. …so if and when it does tank (say 50% off…) I will pick up a couple boxes, try it out, and end up keeping the ships for use in games that do not railroad the consumer into brand/system loyalty and endless expansions. WIN WIN. |

its only marked down 40% first of all,second what you fail to mention is that miniature market put *all* spartan games products on clearance. If anything, MM is dumping spartan products from their shop, that means nothing about the sale of halo products specifically. |

Just a thought here, granted have only seen a couple of games at the FLGS, but I hardly think Fleet Battles is 'sinking' just yet.
As for the miniatures themselves: first have to go w/ @CorpCommander, we have to remember they were taken, and very faithfully I'd say, from the video game. Personally I think the USNC 'looks' like they should look. After all, the game as I recall is set in the not "too" distant future. So kind of makes sence our first space military would be pretty basic in design. If not for the fact, like many gamers, I already have too many game systems that get my interest, I'd already have this.. and a box or 2 of the support sets. |
