I'm trying to fathom out how the T55, T72 and T80 DshK actually worked? I mean how was it positioned? Im guessing it sat on a circular o ring type thing and the gun could be rotated from for to aft?

The T80 looks different again mind you……

many many different pics of them, however none with enough detail to work it out!

In the good old days recognition features of the T-64 and T-72 were that on the T-64 the MG normally faced forwards but on T-72 it was normally facing the rear.

Also keep in mind that the T-72 on did not use the DshK machine gun, but the NSVT instead, if that makes a difference.

Also, as a model builder that has worked on a T-64 model, the mount was really complex, far more than just a simple pintle mount.

If you made the TC hatch with the MG a metal drop in piece that we can model facing any direction you'd have a winner.
