So I have just watched the first two episodes of Z-Nation, Yes I know it's a dorky show but I like it. But it has some good ideas to try and play out in gaming.

I like the idea of someone that is not infected and immune to zombie bites and it's up to the rest of the team to get them to a CDC control center.

It gets better as the story develops. Stay with it.

Brother Jim23 Sep 2015 2:22 p.m. PST

Did you watch the first season or have you just seen the current season??
I really enjoy it and recommend starting at the beginning if you can.

To anyone that watched the first season, did the Zombies get faster this season after the nukes went off, or is my memory playing tricks on me again?

Thanks.

War Monkey23 Sep 2015 2:29 p.m. PST

Oh I apologize, I meant about the second season, seen all of the first season.

Yes they do seem to be moving faster, like almost running fast in fact they are running fast! huh?

Dynaman878923 Sep 2015 4:59 p.m. PST

the commercials were so dreadful I never bothered watching it. May give it a try.

No need to worry about variable speed zombies, Walking Dead certainly has that too (just watch when they get close, they get faster)

It is not bad. Worth watching if you are a fan of the genre, but not worth it if you are only a casual follower. The creators have said in interviews that they have a five-season arc planned, with a coherent meta-plot.

rxpjks123 Sep 2015 5:27 p.m. PST

walking dead with humor. I have laughed out loud at several of the episodes. I like it a lot.

Capt John Miller23 Sep 2015 8:03 p.m. PST

Is DJ Qualls' character still alive? He is the army guy in the arctic.

War Monkey23 Sep 2015 8:23 p.m. PST

Capt john Miller
I'm not saying, you'll just have to watch it! grin

I just love the Old Hippy Guy, "Doc" only because I knew a few like him.

Gaz004523 Sep 2015 9:35 p.m. PST

Best Z show around, lower budget but it doesn't take itself too seriously either……characters have personality rather than the stock 'angst ridden teen' or 'hidden past white guy' that is usually ladled out….WD and FWD could do with the same script writers!

Rogzombie Fezian23 Sep 2015 11:06 p.m. PST

Its an okay zed show. Not Kirkman but what is…

Schoie8823 Sep 2015 11:51 p.m. PST

It reminds me of a comic strip. Good fun when you get into it.

freewargamesrules24 Sep 2015 2:15 a.m. PST

Just watched the radioactive zeds from Season 1. Superb.

Good humour and doesn't take itself seriously. Loved ity when Citizen Z was playing zombie first person shooter on his console!!

I liked Z Nation also. I didn't even know a second season had come out.

Dave Crowell24 Sep 2015 4:23 a.m. PST

It's campy but fun. I like it better than Fear the Walking Dead so far. At least Z Nation has characters I like and care about.

Where can I watch season 2?

War Monkey24 Sep 2015 8:52 a.m. PST

Yes the second season has started and you can watch it on the Sy-Fy channel. Really Sy-Fy!, and what was wrong with Sci-Fi, but anyways, I think it's on Friday nights filling in the hole for Killjoys and Dark Matter now that their seasons is over.

Jefthing24 Sep 2015 11:50 a.m. PST

Currently into season one and really just watching for my zombie fix, but I think it's trying – and failing – to be Zombieland.

In the UK we have shows referred to as 'comedy dramas' which tend to be neither: not funny? It's a drama. Holes in the plot? It's a comedy, of course! Z Nation falls nicely into this genre.

Lots of 'knowing' references ie Twinkie bars and a nuclear expert called Homer, which annoy rather than amuse and the odd character death to tug the heartstrings, which fall flat because I don't care about any of them. Shame really, as the basic plot is a good one and it would be refreshing to have something as well made as Walking Dead but a little less po-faced.

But hey! It's zombies!

goragrad24 Sep 2015 5:01 p.m. PST

Has its moments.

Found it more palatable than Walking Dead.

dsfrank25 Sep 2015 11:44 a.m. PST

not a fan – watched several episodes – didn't nab me – love The Walking Dead – enjoying Fear the Walking Dead so far

Darkoath27 Sep 2015 11:22 a.m. PST

For the most part I enjoy Z-Nation. The main story arc is very good. What I do not like is sometimes they do something that is really dumb and unbelievable to add humor. Sometime this humor for me is an epic fail. As an example… the zombie stripper's arm spinning on the stripper pole.

War Monkey02 Oct 2015 5:18 a.m. PST

I like some of the ideas of what each episode brings, give one thoughts of gaming fodder,

War Monkey02 Oct 2015 5:21 a.m. PST

I have come to realize I need to buy more zombies!

War Monkey05 Oct 2015 12:44 p.m. PST

Alright! mutant Zombies! evil grin

Coelacanth193810 Oct 2015 2:05 a.m. PST

War Monkey13 Oct 2015 8:48 p.m. PST

Mutant Zombies, Zee-weed, Giant Cheese wheel!! can it get any BETTER!! grin

Delthos27 Oct 2015 10:30 a.m. PST

It's really cheesy! ;-) Yeah, I went there!

That being said I like it and haven't missed an episode.

Brother Jim14 Nov 2015 12:18 p.m. PST

Peyote!
Spirit Walking while on Peyote (and using it to kill a Z)!!

It is still enjoyably wacky!!!

EDIT: But I thought the Znami tearing down the casino was stupid.

War Monkey09 Dec 2015 9:23 p.m. PST

Okay just catching up some and I'm up to Zombies and Roswell New Mexico, Hey Zombies and UFO's how great is that! grin

capncarp10 Dec 2015 8:18 a.m. PST

Hi folks, this is Mrs.Carp, occasionally I post with the cap's and the board admin's permission…couldn't resist this thread…I watch both "The Walking Dead" and "Z-Nation"…like them both, actually during the first season of Z-Nation I liked it more than Walking Dead season 5.I love the humor, and the general feel of the show; especially loved the concept of DJ Qualls' character being the lone survivor at the Arctic listening post, who can communicate with people through car radios, and can actually see and sometimes communicate with,(if they can jury rig a car radio, or some other not too sophisticated, and plentiful, listening device)the party of survivors trying to get Murphy across the US to the only CDC lab left.
I didn't think a second season of Z-Nation was going to be made,so when the second season did appear, wasn't able to watch from the beginning, and I found the changes hard to follow without having seen the premier. I am going to try and marathon it on 'on-demand'.
I am glad that Z-Nation appeared during Walking Dead season 5, which should have been known as "Rick, Darryl, now wipe your feet on the mat, and give us those nasty guns to lock away, before saving us from the zombies,Wolves, and other generally evil critters" Hmm,wonder if Darryl's crossbow has a SMART trigger guard so he can take it to his house?wink

War Monkey10 Sep 2016 8:16 p.m. PST

Brother Jim16 Sep 2016 5:29 a.m. PST

I hope I'm not so hyped that the episodes disappoint me.

Brother Jim17 Sep 2016 6:47 a.m. PST

I was a little too hyped, but I still enjoyed it.

Even if I did think there was some idiot ball carrying going on.

War Monkey18 Sep 2016 8:46 p.m. PST

Just got caught up.

Lookingglassman19 Sep 2016 4:25 p.m. PST

Has the 3rd season started yet?

Brother Jim20 Sep 2016 7:24 a.m. PST

Yes, with a double episode premier on Friday, 16 September.
It's normal timeslot is at 9PM on Friday.

Brother Jim24 Sep 2016 1:41 p.m. PST

Well, this season looks like it's going to be doing weird time jumps in the story telling with episode 3 picking up right where last seasons finale ended.

Note: No actual time travel involved…that I'm aware of.

Canuckinator25 Sep 2016 8:18 a.m. PST

I'm thinking the flashback season opener was primarily to introduce "The Man" to the storyline retrospectively. He should keep the new season interesting. Not that Z Nation is ever anything but interesting! :D
