More tanks, more robots, more war! LaserStorm is 6mm science fiction on a massive scale. Each troop stand is one vehicle or a 4-6 person fireteam. Units are platoons and the game can scale up to an entire battalion on the board, if you have the table space. The game features: *Card driven turn sequence, using a very small card deck. *Not a single counter, marker or indicator placed on the table, ever. *No record keeping or tracking for any units, ever. *Combat rules are quick and straight forward. *Units are distinctive in play: Tanks are durable but vulnerable to close assault, super heavy tanks are mobile bunkers and massive behemoths can stride right through a defensive line, crushing and terrifying enemy troops as they go. *Morale system sees units driven off the table and brought back to resume the battle again. You can actually reorganize and redeploy during a game, to open up new fronts or outflank the enemy. *Army commanders provide special deployment and combat options to their troops. *Choose from 25 ready-to-play units, put your own together using a fast "Assembly Line" where you simply match up vehicle hulls and guns or use the points system to build your own troops from scratch. *Unit types that can be built include infantry, tanks, grav vehicles, cavalry, field artillery, giant robots, heroes and many more. *A standard objective-oriented scenario to get to grips with. *Unit traits included to customize and build unique troops, such as scouts. *Fully featured map-driven campaign rules, with troop upgrades. *A small quick-play scenario that should be playable with almost any scifi figures on your shelf. * * * * * LaserStorm is intended for use with 3mm, 6mm and 10mm figures. All dice used are plain, six-sided dice. No markers or counters are required but a deck of cards is recommended. Available on the Vault as always, for the grand sum of 10 bucks for 92 pages of content. link |

Woot! Woot! I can't wait to give these a try. Finally a game that will allow me to use all of my Epic 40K models. |

Sean – If all goes well, I'd like to do some "not-epic" army lists but the info included should get you up and started pretty easily. |

Great news, I really like the look of these – interesting scale and figure ratio. Will be picking up a copy soon. |

Excellent timing Ivan. I have been reading through Iron Cow, DS2 and 5150 Battalion Commander. I was curious for something card based and able to fight larger battles. Just bought a copy. Any battle reports available? Thanks, John |
Weasel | 21 Sep 2015 4:41 p.m. PST |
Less gear-focused than Dirtside but also less "hard scifi". I haven't played Iron Cow unfortunately,so can't compare there. There's a few test AAR's of smaller games: link link Those were from the playtest period, so a few things changed and I think he used a house-rule for morale but you'll get an impression. Thanks for buying! |

I just purchased LaserStorm and have had a quick look at the rules. Very well done. The Campaign rules look very good, and the detailed point system should allow me to put my Renegade Legion Grav tanks and Ogres back on the table. |

Thanks, glad you like! If you get weirdness with the points system, let me know and they can be adjusted along the way. |

Cheers Mr Weasel, also just bought a copy. Some interesting ideas, would be super-keen to see some "not-epic" army lists. For reference, I also started a thread on Tac-com here: link |

Thanks Ivan. Need to get it printed off and start reading through it. I have been buying some of the 6mm vehicles released with the Star War's Command sets. The one set Assault on the Arena has Republic AT-TE walkers and Clone Gunships. I have 4 of each. Should look pretty cool painted up. I agree about Epic. Easy to put your figs on the table and get playing. |

Bought! These are looking good! |

Thanks guys! Don't forget to leave a review once you've read through or had a game :) (Don't jazz it up or nuffin', be honest with the ups and downs.) I didn't know the star wars stuff was 6mm scale. Do you get any infantry? I suppose 6mm "not storm troopers" wouldn't be super hard to source. |
John Leahy | 22 Sep 2015 4:42 p.m. PST |
There was some Micromachine stuff released recently that are also 6mm. Their infantry is about 20mm. I have a large Clone and Droid army. I have lots of figs from the Imperial era too. I just like gaming the Clone Wars more. I think it's more of a war rather than a guerrilla action. There are loads of vehicles and aircraft that fit the scale too. titanium and WOTC stuff. Risk has Clones and Super battledroids that are the same scale. Aside from Epic my immediate 6mm actions would involve Starship troopers. I have a couple of hundred warrior bugs painted. 6 Tankers a few others and a Brain. I have MI and Light Mobile infantry. All the walkers, several Chaz and a few other things. I wanted the Star Wars Gunships and big tanks for these guys. Better options facing Tanker bugs. Need to make some bug flyers. Most of this stuff is painted or almost painted. |

I am going to get it. I am in the hunt looking for some thing to do large scale action in the Traveller Universe. |
Tim White | 23 Sep 2015 10:50 a.m. PST |
I picked it up too. Looks great so far! Lots of options for doing up your own stats and base game mechanics are uncomplicated (a good thing). -Tim |

Hi Ivan a few questions about commanders in the conclusion section of this report, thanks: link Also do you check unit strength before or after casualties for deciding if you need a morale check? Couldn't see it in the rules yesterday. |
Weasel | 23 Sep 2015 2:42 p.m. PST |
Hey Markconz – Right now, any unit counts for objectives. Pretty strong arguments could be made to exclude commanders but for now, kept it simple. Commanders are supposed to only be targeted if they are nearest of that size. That actually needs to be clarified, it got left out :( If all commanders die, the battle group has to rely on desperation rallies to get troops back on the board. Bad times usually. Unit strength is at the beginning of the card activation. |
