My various flags have been largely a product of the ink-jet printer at home with a leavening of bought ones.

Work recently purchased an very expensive laser colour printer & I ran a few flags off of that.

The result is, starting with my SYW armies & my SAGA warbands, I'm replacing every flag with the product of the laser printer.

The difference in colour, detail & clarity is THAT pronounced.

BTW free images from the net & an accommodating boss make this a cheap, if time-consuming exercise: just the cost of a few sheets of superior copy paper.

I just bought a base model HP laser jet and was pretty impressed with the first batch of ACW flags I printed off compared with those from my old ink jet. I find that high quality paper usually sold for printing resume's (or CV's in your part of the world) has a high enough rag/cotton count to give a good impression of cloth.

Laser printers are awesome once you get past the original cost.

Inkjets get you on the cost of ink and faulty "expiration" tags.

I'd agree paper quality is an important consideration.
