Just wondering if anyone cares to chime in on which stands are the best for 1/300 gaming and possibly 1/200 gaming? Looking for stands where I can bank/dive/climb my planes. Thanks |

I use Litko stands with a 1/8th" magnet (from Dom) on top of the stand, another on the plane, a stronger 3/8th" magnet on the stand magnet and a M3 hexnut between that and the plane. The 3/8th" magnet I 'borrowed' from one of my kids magnetic building toys, a bit like this… link ..but cut out of the plastic (don't tell the kids). I can mount Scotia 1/300th B-17s on that in any bank/dive angle without the thing falling over or falling off. JOBSA… |

Thanks Battler But I'm not looking to make my own stands. Rather pay a little more for pre-built ones. Just want to know which flight stand is more sturdy. It looks like Fight's On stands (with the yank/bank indicators) it's slightly over $8 USD a stand. I'm not sure, but the same setup with a similar CorSec stand might be a little cheaper and since I need 20+ stands, money is a key thing here for me. |

Fight's On stands have segments 3/8" high. I think the CorSec stands are designed to be 1/2" levels. Even with 1/300 that isn't quite enough to really distinguish levels from one another – you'd want at least an inch between levels. I have Fight's On stands that I use with 1/600 sometimes. I also have Litko stands, which I wasn't happy with. The rods have a bead around the ends; apparently the cutting process heats it up enough to melt the plastic slightly forming a bead around the cut ends, which means they either don't fit into the bases or fit very tightly. However, if the bead breaks off, the rod is loose in the stand. They also aren't really sturdy enough to hold up anything heavier than a 1/300 fighter. The weight of the bombers makes them bend and sway. You can make nice and functional flight stands for about $1 USD a piece – maybe $2 USD at the most – without too much trouble using 1" diameter fender washers, hard plastic or brass tubing, dowels (to fit inside the tubing), and neodynium magnets. On rereading your second post, I'd say the CorSec are going to be sturdier since they are a single post screwed into the base, rather than a series of magnets stacked on top of each other. |

Thank you Sundance. I think I'll go with CorSec's stands. |
