Does anyone have any specific recommendations for modern Scotia or Heroics & Ros ground vehicles that scale well with GHQ/C-in-C ground vehicles?

The H&R helicopters scale very well and I recommend them to anyone who can't afford GHQ's $13 USD per helicopter (or CinC's nice-but-impossible-to-assemble-if-you're-over 30 models).

I'll start with one H&R ground vehicle that scales well -- H&R's BMP-2. I'll post photos later, but bought some H&R BMP-2s in the late 1980s that are exactly the same size as the GHQ BMP-2. At any kind of distance, when painted they are indistinguishable from GHQ's BMP-2 models. Assuming that H&R is using the same mold, they are a solid alternative to GHQ BMP-2s.

Scotia BMP-2s same size with more detail than H&R.

Scotia Soviets were a huge step up from H&R – their T-80s were very good.

GHQ are obviously the very best but at that scale it's more than you need really. If you have the cash to splash why not – but as I was in the UK they were several times as expensive and nearly impossible to get hold of. So Scotia did the job.

Their M1A1 was nearly perfect too – the only fault I spotted was the turret hatches seemed too far apart.

For aircraft and helos, I'd generally go with either Scotia, or H&R, since they're usually one-piece castings, and a lot more affordable than the GHQ, or CinC minis, which are beautiful, but usually way too fiddly for gaming, in my opinion (frequently multi-part castings).

If both Scotia and H&R are available, I usually give the nod to Scotia for better quality, but that isn't always the case.

How is shipping for Scotia. Do they ship pretty quick?

What are Scotia's modern Russian infantry like? Work for 80s cold war?

Scotia infantry are not the best- too big with large heads. H+R are fine but on the small side.

I'd go with H&R infantry.

I think they scale well with the vehicles.

Does Scotia ship quickly?

Scotia:
BTR-60 PA and BTR-60 PB are nice. Depend upon the location/entity order from. One in the USA, another over-seas. I have used a lot of SADF from Scotia, at least until GHQ has come out with their line of SADF. I will still utilize the Scotia figures. I do have some Skytrex figures available for sale.

Chrisswim--
Just to clarify, are you saying that the Scotia BTR-60 PA and BTR-60 PB scale well (i.e., they look right) with GHQ/CinC?

I'd add that I have used Scotia and found them to be very responsive. I'm pretty sure I got my order (in Texas) within a week of placing it.

Thanks tbeard

Those two vehicle look to scale and to detail suitable. The tires are thicker. I have used Scotia for unique items that GHQ did not produce. Occasionally, ROS, etc when neither GHQ or CinC produced it. If you send email on my FB page, I will take some pics for you.

Hope that will help.
