My gaming group is considering (among other games) Frostgrave for our 2016 miniature gaming campaign. Either 28mm or 15mm (I favour the later)…

First: some ideas (not mine) and thoughts (mine) for modular and efficient (from a transport/storage point of view) terrain!

Looks good but a bit restricted to 'dungeon crawl'. In terms of storage perhaps some fold-down paper terrain? Or even simpler would be 2d tiles from the like of Heroic Maps.

Clearly doing it in 15mm rather than 28mm is going to reduce your space needs by almost 50% so if that's you're premium it's a no-brainer. No shortage of good 15mm miniatures that will capture the Frostgrave (or Mordheim for that matter) flavour. (I've a shelf of around 20 different wizardy types and that's without hunting them down).

If you decide to go 15mm, feel free to email me as I am painting up some bands right now and strongly considering offering deals on warbands. I just need to figure out the best way to do it.

Hi David – I'll help you figure out the best way. Just send me at least one of each miniature you produce and I'll take it from there…

Lol!

I am starting to consider 15mm as a scale for all games. With a 6cm height limit you could even put proper buildings/ruined buildings on those tiles if you play in 15mm. I think it's a step too far for me, but if you go 6mm the possibilities are endless :)

I'd be very interested to see some specifically Frostgrave themed warbands from Splintered Light, David! Although I find myself wondering how much they would really differ from your existing warbands…besides needing another wizard ideally, anyway.

Bob,
I think I am going to initially put up random 15 model packs with 2 wizards plus the various other character/model types. I will use figures from incomplete packs and see how that goes. I hate to retool a bunch of molds just for a few people who might be interested.
