Since I confused people and/or slightly mangled my question in my last poll idea, let's go with the other question that was almost asked. Who is your ideal player or opponent? What qualities do you value the most in an opponent, or value in a player in a game you are running? a) honesty and fairness b) flexibility c) sense of humor d) brains e) they bring beer f) detailed understanding of the rules g) imagination h) clarity of thought and speech i) clean clothes and a recent shower j) williness to rush in and get into hand to hand combat (on the table) k) they own the rules l) they own the needed miniatures (and painted them) m) all of the above n) none of the above o) other |

E Plus when he stabs me in the back in a zombie game it's not personal. Just business. |

Not on your list. But I think my adopted father wins this contest. That's one of the reasons I adopted him. That and the fact he called me son three times… |

A, and B, and "gentlemen's demeanour" … taking the game itself seriously (as appropriate within its milieu), but not sweating burbles in meta-game activities that arise honestly. |

a) honesty and fairness b) flexibility c) sense of humor d) brains No Beer, many venues we play in are "alcohol conscious" and do not have the necessary permits to have alcohol served on the premises. Besides I would prefer red, (doctor's orders, no seriously,) wine/mixed drinks (not to doctor's orders) f) detailed understanding of the rules g) imagination h) clarity of thought and speech i) clean clothes and a recent shower – not a problem among my regular opponents but at a con I avoid a few games due to player composition j) "rush to HTH" – depends on the era/genre/side k) they own the rules – usually my standard opponent brings a variant of TS&TF which I don't own l) they own the needed miniatures (and painted them) – preferred in case I forget |

a) honesty and fairness b) flexibility c) sense of humor d) brains f) detailed understanding of the rules g) imagination h) clarity of thought and speech i) clean clothes and a recent shower k) they own the rules l) they own the needed miniatures (and painted them) L is listed only since this means I don't have to own the minis… K is not necessary either but since this is the "ideal" |

Sense of humour, deals with winning or losing just fine, interested in more story driven games at times. Whatever else, if you are rude to people at the table or find yourself getting angry over a toy soldier game, you're out. Be a normal person. I've played some terrifying slobs at stores for card games. An occasional shower isn't a bad thing yo. |
