Due to a grumpy episode with the organisers of Colours this weekend and a "throwing of toys out of pram" we will not be attending Colours. Really sorry to all who were coming to see us. As compensation we will be running a 25% off sale on most items this weekend until midnight sunday. Shame really, Colours always was one of my favourite shows……………. |

Sounds like a case of "shoot self in foot" on their behalf – they seem to have equally upset Dave at Caliver too. |

And I wouldn't mention "our deposit" to Dave Thomas & Phil either … |

Seemed to be a whole load of the usual show stalwarts who weren't there. It's a pity as it's usually a good show. Seemed a bit flat to me. The Colonel |

Does trade need the shows, or do shows need the trade???? |

I'd think that the shows need the trade more in my opinion. I'm sure the shows are a great financial opportunity in some regards to companies but anecdotal evidence would suggest this has lessened over the years. a 25% sale at PSC possibly will encourage people to make larger purchases to take advantage and may ameliorate the loss of earnings at a show which would have cost money to get to (as in fuel) and incur the cost of the trade stand at so much per foot of trade space. Plus the staffs own time manning the stand for 6 or 7 hours of the day, which if you only factor in minimum wage adds up to a lot to pay out in the hope punters turn up to cover and hopefully exceed your costs. |

Most Traders don't make a lot of money at shows these days, people can see stuff all the time on the interweb so the shows are not the 'must go to see what new' events they used to be.More 3D advertising and meeting customers really ( always nice to exchange a bit of mutual abuse lol) and in my case a few weekends away………….and sometimes I manage that without SWMBO…………. I make a point of pre-ordering to collect at shows, thus supporting both the show and the trader. If the traders were not there, it would certainly cut down my show attendance. At Colours I collected from SHQ, and I would have spent more if PSC had been there. |

Dropped by the PSC site to see what's new. Apparently 251/C halftracks are in for 1/72!! Great news, will need to get some eventually. Have sprue shots been released? ~iPaint |

The Sprue shots you will find are on the Facebook page which you can easily access from the parent PSC site. In many ways they are the same as the D type sprues |

Agree with most of the comments here, especialy Leon Adler. EWM ran a free post offer for those who were going to Colours and wanted EWM products because we went to Germany and Holland to a show instead that weekend. followed up by time with mates in Holland seeing the sights. As a comparision and to really put things in perspective, we attended a big Model show in Germany, spent a week in both Germany and Holland, paid for the big trade space at the german show, ferry, breakdown insurance cover, fuel for a 1000 miles, accomodation and food for two for the week which cost us LESS than it would have cost, to have had the pleasure of trading for ONE DAY at Colours! Now there is something very wrong here if we can do that dont you think? To make the point even louder, we took more cash in Germany than we did at Colours the year before as well? Makes you think right? I think we have got some things a bit wrong in the UK when it comes to the charges UK traders have to pay for the "pleasure" of supporting SOME shows in the UK dont you think? I guess we shall be going to Germany again next September and we shall make the same free post offer to our UK "colours" customers next year. Paul T@ Early War Miniatures |
