Hi, this is my first message on this board so it'll serve also as an presentation, I'm Seanny Crow, 31 years old, I live in the South of France and I have been a casual wargamer since I'm 14. After reading (only recently I'm afraid, I knew of the books but never really got the chance until I got them in English as a gift) the entire Hammer's Slammers novels, I've fallen in love with Drake's universe and bought The Crucible and a good set of Slammers models both from Antsy and Jez late last year. I have been looking to complete my detachments and along with the wrench mobile and some tanks from Antsy I wanted more stuff from Jez, some utility vehicles for my Arty detachment, mortar jeeps (he is the only one who makes them AFAIK) and especially more combat cars since I find his to be the best (more "girth" and the armor of the fighting compartment that goes above the waist, which is as I read it in the novels). Anyways, long story short I have been emailing him and didn't get an answer, so I'm starting to worry that maybe he hung it up, and really hoping that he is just enjoying a vacation. Anybody got some info on that? I can get some GZG for the utility vehicles and convert some Antsy jeeps to mortar jeeps but I would really prefer Jez's models. Thanks for bearing with me, and hope meeting you Slammer fans around a table sometimes. Seanny Crow |

Yes, you just have to email him directly … |

Ainsty make combat cars with upgraded armour (A7s), Slammers jeeps (not sure he's got a mortar one done yet but has it planned) and command cars with positionable ramps. The combat cars are interchangeable, what with the different models used by the Slammers, which is handy. Ainstys ones have the extra etched brass, of course, and he does the decals. And right sized tanks in 1/100th, of course. Tell us all how you get on! John T |

Hi seany welcome If you need slammer advice ( of which I know not too much) this is a great place. I have seen john t and others post very detailed answers to specific questions….about the slammerverse. I've tried contacting jez recently too, but I think I made an error in the email link…so I'm guessing that's why he hasn't responded. If you are new to 15mm ….or need some guidance just ask….the folks here are a friendly lot even the Brits :) I would point you to dropship horizon as a major way to see most of the 15mm manufactures and news. I beg of you if you are not aware of khurasan miniatures, brigade models, or critical mass games to check them out….but to be honest I have ordered from everyone over the years and have never had an issue. Again welcome and look forward to reading your posts progress. |

Hello Seany just to let you know that there are several different 15mm vehicles out there that would look right at home in the Hammers Slammersverse, not so long ago Kirk and I designed several alternative hover vehicles that would fit the bill and are now produced by Brigade Models here in the UK. :) Zac link |

Kirk and Zac's work in this area is interpreted as the Hiroseki National Army link within the Slammer's Crucible rules.
One of the vehicles is indeed a combat car: it has a slightly different feel to the Slammers stuff (lower and wider) but aimed at the same sort of job (undoubtedly why those smart Hiroseki chaps chose them!)

Thanks for all your responses. I couldn't post for my first 3 days on TMP so I'll do it now sequentially: @ Legion 4 : yes that's what I've been doing, last year already the site was down so I ordered by email directly but he just isn't answering now. @John T: First, it's an honor for you to reply directly to my post, I love 15mm community, I'm new at it and I see way less venality and a real sense of kinship amongst the fans, for the creator to directly respond to any one post about his game, it's great. I know about the cars from Ainsty, I actually own 4 normal and 4 UA (for my White Mice Detachment) from them (and my 8+1 tanks are from them too), and yes, the etched brass is superior but for the model itself, my heart still goes toward Jez's. To each his own I guess. For all the others messages, thanks for the welcome. |

@ Seanny Crow Jez getting on with other things in his life – as he has a perfect right to do so, of course, is the reason why the vehicle line went directly to Ainsty and with back up from GZG and Brigade (for the most part) with fill in from other manufacturers for less core forces. With luck I'm meeting Andy from Ainsty over the weekend with a view to seeing what other items can be manufactured from the specific Slammers line (having got the tanks, cars, jeeps and tank destroyers and half tracks). Hogs are high on that list. And, of course, I swing 'both ways' with the combat cars and am happy with either of them
Momentum seems to be gathering with the rule set, which is interesting as it's now a few years old: I'm glad to still be supporting gamers who want to use it and will continue to do so, keeping it fresh with tweaks, supplements and tie ins with applicable model ranges. Input from players is always valuable in this process, which is why TMP is a valuable resource. So, finally, many thanks for the kind words, Seanny Crow (and all who continue to do so). John T |
