I know plenty of companies are based in Nottingham but are there any walk-in games or model shops? And what's the name of the pub that's in a cave? Thanks!

Huscarle30 Aug 2015 1:05 p.m. PST

The pub is Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem triptojerusalem.com

You can walk into the Foundry wargamesfoundry.com

and that's all I can remember from my trip to Nottingham some years past…

Cornelius30 Aug 2015 2:49 p.m. PST

Surely Foundry moved about a year ago.

Maddaz11130 Aug 2015 3:21 p.m. PST

yes foundry gone. (and with it an excuse to take and leave partner in town centre whilst I go and see a man about some figures)

I don't know anywhere central that is war gamery..

Gee Dee Models is often worth a visit – they usually have quite a range of model kits, railway accessories and remote control cars/planes/etc. geedee-modelshop.com

Warlord don't have a shop, but we're generally open to visitors with a bit of advance warning (and as long as the post isn't currently being packaged up to go!): link

North Star are also on the same site, but you'll definitely have to call ahead as I don't think they show visitors around.

And of course there is the newly-refurbished Warhammer World. The miniatures display is no longer free, but it's no longer just all the studio armies in cabinets. The displays they have built there are well worth a visit.

Thank you everyone. I will try to make it out to Warlord if I don't need to phone in advance! Looking on a map, both Warlord and Warhammer World look a 20 min walk from the city centre. Does that sound about right?

Knight of St John30 Aug 2015 10:23 p.m. PST

That's a yes for Warhammer world.

Guinny31 Aug 2015 6:04 a.m. PST

Yeah – Google maps says 25 mins from the market square, though there is a huge hill between the city and Lenton (where Warlord are) so walking time may vary depending on how energetic you feel! (Any of the Orange buses will take you to within 5 minutes of Warlord HQ – ask for the Savoy Cinema stop)
