(j) Fruit curd (no these shall not be lumped together with jams)

I think we can all agree that lemon curd is the best thing to discover on a biscuit. Even if we have diametrically-opposed notions of a what a biscuit is, and at what times of day it is appropriate to wonder where the biscuits are. As such, lemon curd is the great unifier.

Cheddar cheese and Rasperry jam.

BelgianRay30 Aug 2015 10:20 a.m. PST

Why not a choice of edible things ? Peanut Butter ? Mayonnaise ? Brrrr, where do they eat that …?

Mako1130 Aug 2015 10:52 a.m. PST

Butter, then peanut butter, then cheese.

Note – margarine should not be lumped together with butter. That's just wrong!

Gokiburi30 Aug 2015 12:26 p.m. PST

1. Hummus, preferably a heavily-spiced variety.
2. Nutella
3. Olive oil. (Assuming that the bread is itself flavourful.)
4. Mint cheese spread (it sounds weird, it tastes weird, but it works)
5. Pesto

I have a feeling that Tonkatsu sauce would be up there, but I haven't tried it on plain bread just yet.
I must make a special mention of Guacamole, while it's not my personal favorite, my friend Walter swears by it.

BLT Is awesome sandwich filler but for a spread Heinz do some really tasty sandwich spreads in a jar with multiple ingredients and I think the same company do toast toppers too.
For flavour explosion they are excellent.

Cmde Perry30 Aug 2015 1:45 p.m. PST

Maybe not my single most favorite (not all of the internal ballots have been counted yet), but one worth recommending:
Velveeta cheese and honey.
Don't be put off by the 'processed cheese food' nature of Velveeta – it really does mix well with the honey. Or, as Teppsta said, don't knock it until you've tried it!

"I got it now, it's about feeding yourself, not eating."

Think of it as subsistence rations for the campaigning season.
