Have been experimenting with my recently-acquired haul of GHQ minis playing my normal rules by converting inches to cm but it didn't quite feel right Then I tried converting inches to inches/2, so eg. 6 inches in the rules = 3 inches on the table) and bingo, it's just the job. So, does anyone know where I can get a scale ruler for this scale? Ideally in the UK but I'll order internationally if it' s not too expensive. I've got an enquiry in with rulers-of-the-world.com but thought I'd ask more widely. I may have to make my own, but you never know. |

1. Get an ordinary ruler. Preferably made of white plastic. 2. Photo reduce it to 50% on a photocopier 3. Encapsulate the half size ruler you printed. |

My business partner, Bill Winski, introduced this idea here in the Denver area, back in 1994-sh. It's worked for us to date perfectly! Yes, I agree that using cm instead of inches for the smaller scaled miniatures has a "different" feel. Major B's suggestion is worth your small effort to do. What he means by encapsulate is to cover it with the stuff ID cards are laminated with. This also allows the "ruler" to be curved to follow roads and over hills which results in a more accurate measurement when it comes to movement. It also serves to protect the rulers from the ink rubbing off and getting smudged by the grease of gametime snacks on the fingers. Give it a try. It is an excellent way to keep the "feel" of the rules you enjoy best using smaller scale minis. v/r Tom |

Quick and easy way is to print out a ruler on a laser printer. Get a picture of a ruler on the web and use Google docs, Open Office, or Microsoft Office to print it out at 6 inches in length and then glue it to a stick. |

Thanks for the ideas, chaps. @extra crispy – that's ideal! No, but my daughter is in St Louis and we're going over in a couple of weeks :) What do you want for it? |
