Interesting subject. Extremely well painted. If I were to have anything negative to say, it would be to point out that the LMG team might not integrate well in a squad when playing a game. But the base is such s great job of modeling that it seems ridiculous for me to say so.

Great stuff sir.

Robby, I Think I got carried away as usual. The modeller outweighs the gamer in me way to often! maybe its a sign I never seem to have the time or the energy to game now a days. The bases took a while but I'm guessing it was time well spent. I would never say your words are ridiculous Robby, you have always given me nothing but excellent advice and encouragement. Its all very much appreciated!

Thanks BeneathALeadMountain, The miniatures are cracking little figures, nicely sculpted and easy to paint! and the heads are separate so it gives you even more scope to make them look different. I think a second box is going to be added to my collection real soon.

Thanks for the feedback guys
cheers for now Russ

Bracken I play in 15mm and I'm currently trying to resist 28mm and you're not helping! Glad to see someone else uses grey as a base colour, it makes everything pop really nicely (in my eyes). Tonights insomnia will be spent perusing your blog. Keep it up.

I would be proud to do battle vs these sailors :)

BeneathALeadMountain I find the same thing! Other peoples work tempts me into new projects all the time. Although I must be honest 15mm is one thing I struggle massively with. I just can't get results I'm happy with. I think I'm too long in the tooth to change scales. Thank you for your kind words and I will keep updating the blog as and when. Its a bit of a mixed bag but I do enjoy painting a variety of stuff as you can tell.

Thank you also, land locked sailors doesn't fit in to most peoples idea of the naval forces but they add that bit more diversity to my German forces.

So as always thanks for looking, thanks for commenting, and cheers for now

They look great bracken, gives me something to aspire to when I get around to painting my naval squad.

Thanks jtkimmel, they are fantastic looking figures in their own right! They paint up nice and easy and the detail isn't overdone.

Bracken: I understand your point as too spending 'more time as a modler than gamer'.

Speaking for myself, everytime I paint, I think "its going to be fun to play with these when done". However the reality is, for over a decade now, my painting has become, more just for the fun / diversion of painting. While I still game from time to time, the truth is very few of my own have ever seen a single game table.

I think your naval 'detachement' would be great in a late war scenario.
"Somewhere on the outskirts of Berlin", they join up with what ever piece meal units could be pulled together to face a fast approaching organized 'veteran' Soviet unit forcing their way into the very heart of the Father land.

sorry.. like you with this great model, I get carried away writing 'fluff' etc for games/secnarios as times.
Great work.. I hope you get to see them 'in action' at least for a few games.

Thanks Part time gamer, don't worry we all have our passions within our hobby, painting figures, writing scenarios, its all part of what makes our hobby. As for my kriegsmarine squad they do have a place with my last levy box of motley forlorn figures.

I must admit since my brother passed away last year, my eagerness to game seems to have passed away with him. He was my guiding light in my younger years, he got me into gaming and we played many many games together. From board games like kingmaker and risk to full blown war gaming. with lots and lots of games involving armour. From warsaw pact and nato micro armour games and ww2 right through to DBA which I tried recently to get back into although be it in 28mm rather than the 15mm which I cut my teeth on.

so thanks for reading
cheers for now Russ
