Allow me to be the first to refer you to the Partizan Press pubication, "English Civil War Campaign Scenarios, Vol. 1", which includes the description, "The 1643 Campaign for the South-West, Sir William Waller against Sir Ralph Hopton": link I don't have it immediately at hand, but I think that it has about a dozen scenarios most of which are around the size you are looking for. I suggest that you check it out. You might also want to read, "The Civil War in the South-West" by John Barratt (published by Pen & Sword Military Books). -- Jeff

The early war in Lancashire and Yorkshire was mostly smasler scale actions. Scots come in in 1644 during the Marston Moor campaign again discounting the main action itself there were lots of small actions. Of course you could run a fictional Scottish borders campaign setting and use what ever you like! |
