Hi All, Just acquired 6 H&R EH 101 Merlins, and I'm looking for correct or nearest Vallejo airframe colours, for FAA (grey?) and RAF (green?)please. Only fault I can find so far with the model is a big square lump of metal on the front hull underside. I think this is supposed to be the Kestrel Radar, which should be round and only appears on FAA non assault aircraft. I can only think the master was made from a hull right or left profile picture which would show the radar as a block, and not round. Anyway the kit is a fearsome lump of metal for your £2.00 GBP, and recommended. |

RAF don't have Merlins any more. They've been promoted to the Royal Navy :) If they've modelled it with the radome then its an HM1 or HM2. The HC3 troop carriers have a different rear fuselage |

Sorry, my mistake, should have been 1/300. David, what has replaced Merlin in RAF?, or are they just buying more Chinooks? |

You have it with more Chinooks. The last of the old Pumas also recently completed an upgrade, but new purchases are all Chinooks. |

@ David, What's different about the rear fusilage, is it just the offset tail fin, or the rear opening doors? Anyone know a scheme for the navalised HC3's please (same tiger stripe as the Sea Kings perhaps?). |

Please tell the RAF that they don't have Merlins anymore, coz they keep hovering the big b*****s outside my office window! They're re still at RAF Benson, not yet moved to Yeovilton. They have the ramp and don't have the folding tail, don't think they've got the air to air refuelling probe. The RAF still operate Pumas. |

Thanks GI, I know the conversion will be slow, I just read somewhere that the initial 7 will only get navalised folding rotors, and not the full package, just to provide short term cover |
