Some more new sets from this American figure maker, all Colonial, which has always been one of my favourite periods. This time AIP has revisited the Egyptian and Sudan Campaigns, with some more camel mounted sets.

The sets come in the two flavours, Summer and Winter.

The 5 sets are in white summer uniforms are sets 5622 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Summer Dress, 1 Officer & 3 Men Mounted; 5623 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Summer Dress, 4 Men Mounted (Add-On Set); 5624 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Summer Dress, 2 Men Mounted & 2 pack camels; 5625 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Summer Dress, 2 Men Mounted & 2 camels with screwgun. All men in white, camels in butterscotch and screw gun in dark green.

The other five sets are in dark blue winter uniforms; 5626 Egyptian Camel Corps – 1882 Winter Dress, 1 Officer & 3 men mounted; 5627 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Winter Dress, 4 men mounted (Add-On Set); 5628 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Winter Dress, 2 Men Mounted & 2 pack camels; 5629 Egyptian Camel Corps – Egypt & Sudan – 1882 Winter Dress, 2 Men Mounted & 2 camels with screw gun. All men in dark blue, camels in butterscotch and screw gun in dark green plastic.

These sets mark another ‘First-In-Plastic' for AIP. Full marks to the company for enabling this somewhat exotic and certainly neglected force to be added to collections and armies.
