There's a lot of games that deal with the outbreak as it's happening. You have to run around and survive against being bitten and just joining the shambling hordes.
Infected takes you to the time after the infection has basically run its course. You are part of the populace that survived. Now it's your turn to rebuild society… or you could always just finish running it into the ground. The game is pretty much made. All that's left is to get some artwork into it and get it printed. That's where the Kickstarter campaign comes in. That campaign, by the way, is a little more than 50% funded and still has 32 days left on the clock."
