… a VERY good set of rules; I have been involved in the pre-deployment of these and they are simple, well written with some very nice thoughts behind them. If you have SYW armies already based (in ALL scales) do not stress these rules will cater for them. PLUS they will be an affordable introduction for all.

Based on what I read about play testing on Keith's blog and then in the Yahoo group I just went ahead and ordered a copy. I am very much looking forward to them coming out.

A applaud your ingenuity for the wooden blocks in the AAR on your blog. Nice also to see the Prussians get their come uppance.

Royal Marine25 Aug 2015 1:56 p.m. PST

… those blocks belong to Steve Johnson (it's his blog) who I have been playing testing Honours of War with; also did some games in 10mm Austro-Prussian encounters proving evenly matched with good scenario design. You'll not be disappointed when these rules come out ;-)

In 10mm how many figures did you use per base of 40mm by 20mm? How many ranks ?

Those who would like more detail on the rules can check out the Yahoo group:

The files section contains a full set of the rules as they were a few months ago, though not the final published version.

@GGouvei … I use 8 figures per base for formed infantry, 3 for cuirassiers and dragoons and 2 for hussars. BUT … it doesn't matter, these rules need you to have units that have line or march column formations, the number of figures on a base isn't really important.

Check the blog again: link with more images of my figures on offer. We also played a '45 Jacobite Rebellion tonight with these rules using a few mods … but please don't tell the author ;-) and all will be well.

Completely unauthorised playing of an unofficial period! Damn you sir, and your unconscionable impertinence!

A forum supporting these rules, along with a few pages of additional content, is available now at

honoursofwar.com

The Yahoo group will close in a couple of weeks.
