I fought out a fictional WW2 battle today using OHW WW2 rules and scenario 3. It was a lot of fun. More pics and details at my blog here: Adventures with Gun, Sabre & Horse – OHW Scenario 3 WW2 Battle

Very nice. Do you think going to base depths skews the scenario as the design allows infantry to go from edge to edge in just 6 turns.

this seemed to matter in my last game (scen 25) as the attackers have to exit the enemy side of the board to win.

Most likely but I am playing on a smaller board too.

Have you played a scenario yet where one side has two mortars and the other does not?

No.
