Starting to get into FIW, having played Muskets and Tomahawks a few times, and will be trying a smaller game of Song of Drums and Tomahawks tomorrow. In both sets of rules, it would be advantageous to have some sort of "thrown tomahawk" marker. I found a post on TMP, and the SDT rules mention using woodland animals for hidden movement markers, and I've got some 'O' scale deer based up that I think will work great. So I'd like something besides a colored chit or kill ring for a "thrown tomahawk" marker.

Does anyone make 25/28mm loose tomahawks? My Googling hasn't found much. Essex seems to make a Medieval cavalry axe, but is doesn't look much like a tomahawk…

The Wargames Factory Woodland Indians box has several loose tomahawks. If you need Indians anyway then buy the box and use them. If not I'm sure you could find someone on here that might have some spares.

RAFM has an Indian Weapons & Trade Goods set. There are a couple of tomahawks on one sprue. There are also two figure sets that include the sprue on page one of the FIW range. This link is to page two.

If you contact RAFM, they may be able to sell you just the weapon sprues that you need.

I did the same thing for thrown tomahawk markers.

Not just hatchet tomahawks, but hawks and warclubs of different styles can also be used on these markers. You'll find warclubs on those sprues along with the hatchets.

I have temporarily used up my spare tomahaks, but I'm going to have some more when I finish my Old Glory Sac project.

I think the Northstar sets have loose tomahawks.

I don't know where you live, but if you are in the U.S. and don't mind plastic, I could probably give you about 10 that are left over from the Wargames Factory militia set. If interested post your email address.
