When: Saturday, September 12th, 2015

Time: 11 AM – 6:30 PM

Registration: 10:15 AM. There will be a nominal fee of $5.00 USD per entrant.

Where: Huzzah Hobbies
44927 George Washington Blvd, Suite 165, Ashburn, VA 20147
Players: 16
Rounds: 3 – 2 hour rounds
Round 1 – 11 AM – 1 PM
Round 2 – 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Round 3 – 4 PM – 6 PM
Results – 6 PM – 6:30 PM

Format

This tournament is designed to accommodate new and "veteran" players alike. Tables will be preset with generic terrain. Only scenario specific terrain need be placed. "Veterans" (me) will be on hand to assist newer players through the rules and facilitate play and round times.

This is a 2 list format. Any lists from either book are acceptable remembering The Deluge lists override the main rule-book for the PLC and Sweden. One list must be 7 FSP or less to accommodate Small Defensive Skirmish lists as noted in The Deluge. Please have your lists ready for review at registration time. Players will follow the normal rules and setup for scenario play except for the preset generic terrain.

Scoring will be total Victory Points. The scenario points will be added to your points received for losses. So, for example, you win the scenario 6-2. However; your opponent had Acceptable Losses scoring them another VP. You, on the other hand, suffered Very Heavy Losses giving your opponent another 2 VPs. The final score would be 6-5.

The winner of the event will receive a trophy (yet to be made by me) as a remembrance of their victory!

Please preregister for this event by posting here on the forum or on my blog knightrecoil.blogspot.com/. Please provide your name and army you will be using. Lists aren't needed until event day.

Players are encouraged to preregister. Although we may be able to accommodate more than 16 players, there is no guarantee and I would hate to see people turned away.

Huzzah Hobbies has soft drinks and snacks available for purchase. There are plenty of places to eat around the area including a pizzeria and a deli within a minute walk around the building.

Hope to see you there on the 12th.

Happy Gaming!!!

Franko,

I am interested. Sign me up, I just don't know which Army I will be bringing. If I was as prolific as your compatriot I would have a completely different army there to contest with, but sadly, it will take me until March to have one ready.

Jeff

BTW, I would love to see your Mapuche.

Kontos30 Jul 2015 8:39 a.m. PST

Thanks Jeff. Sure, I would love to show you my Mapuche. I am actually expanding the army with figures from Lurkio for variety. No problems on the tournament army. I can wait on that decision. Thanks for posting and signing up.

I have about half of my army painted up – the Khurasan ones, but have the other half as Lurkio that are mostly primed at this point. As for Indians with Firearms, I think that the Tupi from Falcon USA have a few that might work. They are much bigger in height than the Khurasan or Lurkio guys, but fortunately the ones with Firearms (one pose) are all kneeling so they don't stand out so much.

Awesome, Jeff. Can I ask we continue this on another thread? I want to reserve this for preregistrations and related tournament questions. Thanks!

Well we are half way there to BFaS Team sponsorship which means ducats, goodies and a BFaS Trophy for the winner. We need 12 participants to make that happen. Let me remind you this "tournament" is geared to beginners as well as veterans so don't let your inexperience stop you from entering. Also, fully painted armies are NOT a requirement!

This purpose of this event is to get people to play and appreciate this great game. Being an obscure period it hasn't attracted the usual suspects but after playing, and learning more about the period, players have been excited about collecting armies for a new gaming venture. Be one of them! Sign up now.

Looking forward to the 12th!

Now up to 8 players! Not bad for a local event. I am excited and looking forward to a great tourney. I am making some custom terrain for the scenarios. Always special to game on nice looking game boards. Hope to make that happen.

I should finish painting the Tatars tonight. That means that I put them on bases tomorrow night and they will be ready for the fight Saturday morning.

I have both a 6FSP and a 12 FSP force.

Did you ever have any more tournaments? I'm thinking of building a Swedish army for the Deluge.
