Dear List

I conceived of a new idea for a musician for one of the units in my Imaginary Army, that of Princess Trixie of Saxe Burlap- Schleswig-Beerstein. The unit is the personal guard of the Princess which uses the figure of Magam Foures Belitote from the Suren line riding "en-hussar" Ihave a trumpeter, and guidon for the 15 wowan unit, but I am making a one-man band figure for it as well. She will have a clavier keyboard on one side, and something on the other, with a drum on her back. She will be holding a variation of the "Jingling Johnny" or "Janitchar" which will have a large rack of cow-bells.

The problem Is the cowbells. How I am making these in 30mm scale is by taking various sizss of basswood or balsa and sanding down the ends with a dremel tool to make the trapezoidal shape then cutting it off with a knife. They are then drilled with a hair drill and a ring of brass wire used for the hanger. This will be glued to a frame of three racks, each with six bells on it. I hope they can swing freely, but a positive hold is what I am looking for. The rest of the staff on which these are will have cymbals and triangles. Of course it's an impossible creation but what the heck.

The bells are about 1/8 to 1/32 on a side so they will be a little out of scale but…Hmmm I wonder if I should have used square brass rod stock?

Would it then be less inappropriate to comment on the "nice rack" the Princess has?
