Very good. Three states of life: living, dying, dead.

My thoughts too – Flak/AT gun positions would be well away from infantry positions firing an MG42. Looks cool at first sight but when you stop for even 5 seconds to think you think – nah.

Indeed. If the enemy are within pistol range why are you still bothering to load the 88?

In isolation the various bits look good, but as a whole it's a failure.

Is that an ammo crate on top of the gun barrel?

I don't recall ever seeing that before.

I hope the 'pin' wasn't pulled on that potato-masher grenade the wounded gentleman has dropped.

I like it! It depicts the carnage at the Oderfront quite well. Not an ordinary battle line, but an ultimate fight to the last bullet, firing at hordes of incoming enemies from multiple sides. Well done!

Maybe protection against shrapnel for the "Luftvorholer" (pneumatic cylinder)?

Wooden crates wouldn´t be very effective though.
Another pic with what Looks like mattresses or wooden beams

Excellent painting job, well weathered.

Only note: dead bodies in war are never clean (except in wargames!), they are always torn and ripped apart, with gallons of blood pooling around the remains.
