This is not my scale or my main era, but I ran across this nice kit in 1/53 scale. A Lockheed 10.
It is about as classic of Pulp airplane as you can get and well sized to match 28mm figures.

I wish I had seen that a couple days ago.

Is the photo yours? From what I've read, the kit is a bit of a beast to put together.

Williams kits are definitely not for novice kit-builders.

I picked up one of these on ebay a few months ago…not sure if it is the kit model as it was already assembled

listed on Ebay as a Delta 777-200 but it clearly wasn't based ion the picture. I took a bit of a punt on this one based on the fact that the description gave the dimensions as an 11 inch wingspan and 8 inch body. It looked like it would work for the period and fit with a 1/48 scale. Total price was £11.00 GBP (inc postage) – not bad for a pre built model.

28mm figures next to it

If you bought the model as it's shown in the photo, I think that you got a good deal as it looks really good. The scale looks fine. If the plane was in true scale with the minis it would be a bit too large for a gaming table IMHO.

Hi The Shadow

Yup what you se is what I bought…it came with a plastic stand that soon got discarded – agree ref the scale

The undercarriage also retracts…

Anyone know where these are available now?

I have one of these. While not the right scale for a Lockheed model 10, it scales better as a Lockheed model 12. They look about the same, except the 10 has a extra set of side windows.
