Recently painted fantasy mini.
Oh and look at that barbarian…
why is he skulking around Moria?
Those dirty pesky humans are making a move into the neighborhood!

Some custom Rogue Trader conversions I made. These are part of 10 space explorers that are going up on eBay soon.

Some Nappy cavalry, photo taken back before I had a good camera. But Ive painted French nappies, Austrians, Prussians, Russians. For colonials, I painted Zulus, Sudanese and Brits. Ive painted Vietnam for moderns as well. I have a full Osprey library, so I can do any period really.

I have used Mars Miniatures for some stuff recently and have been very pleased! It's great work at an affordable price.

I've loved looking at your work on Moria over the past months, but had no idea you also ran a painting service. Your painting has a great deal of style and the prices are certainly attractive!

Is that $2 USD for painting a 25mm or a 15mm foot soldier?

Mars Miniatures24 Jul 2015 9:44 a.m. PST

PatrickWR,
Thanks buddy! Ive dropped prices since last time as well.

Daryl Haselton,
Ahh, thanks for that info! That means I was correct in making this post.

79thPA,
$2 USD for 25/28mm. But for 15mm and 10mm, thats $1 USD a pop for infantry ($2 for cavalry.) 6mm half that for 50cents for inf.

What is your typical turn around time on a project (say 48-72 28mm Seven Years War or Napoleonic infantry)?

Mars Miniatures24 Jul 2015 10:55 a.m. PST

Olaf 03,

I aim for 4 figures an hour at my quality of brushwork. So I would say 2 days for 72 figures.

Last week, I painted 96 napoleonic perry prussians in 2 days. So that gentleman's commission pretty much took a week from initial contact to his receiving painted minis. Of course Arizona to California is fast mail delivery times.

Just curious, for figuring things out with regard to plans, does the basing cost get added if when shipping out the bases are already done just needing to be attached, or is it for more work than that in that regard.

On top of that, what would be the cost to add a unit tray for consistent basing if those were sent

Mars Miniatures24 Jul 2015 1:23 p.m. PST

Borathan,

Im not sure what you mean exactly.
My charge for a standard basing and flocking is:
Glue scatter material, let it dry, seal it a 2nd time with a watered down coat, let it dry, paint it brown, drybrush it a light brown, then static grass in certain areas.

If you want something simpler like… just paint the base brown or green, then I wouldnt charge for that.

The point is, if it takes time for me to work on the basing, like gluing flock, or painting a resin textured base… THEN I will charge a lil bit to make it worth my time. At the moment, all I aim for is minimum wages, so if its quick basing job, I wont charge for it.

Unit trays… depends on its size, and again how long it takes me to do it. If its a LOTR style 8 figure tray, or a warhammer tray for just the edges, maybe $1 USD a tray?

Mar offers great service, excellent communications, fair prices, quick turnaround and nicely painted figs.

I'm Charlie Clay and I approve this message. :)

@Mars Miniatures
Main thing I was asking was that there's two projects that I've been trying to find time for, one of which is expanding an Of Gods & Mortals warband where I already have a basing theme going that, if I go with that, would have the base pretty much painted and there to just be attached when the minis are painted…mainly because I've been working on using mosaic tile patterns for them.

The other one would be a bit later in the order, but a similar force intended as a gift for a friend that I hadn't entirely planned out, but would be have figure trays sent along with the intention to match…

It's more of in how I've been planning my gaming budget than anything else there.

Borathan,
In that case, thats a flat paint fee with no extra base charge on top. Email me if you decide you want to commission me. mar.rosquites@gmail.com

Tankrider,
Thanks for your vote of confidence, sir!

Cheers,
Mar
