Well another Historicon in the books and overall another great time was had. I get my grandsons for the whole weekend so that makes it a good weekend regardless of what else happens but they had a good time and that's what counts.
I prefer historical gaming but since its "their" weekend I let them pick the games. Thursday we played a game of treasure hunting and fighting off monsters until a magic book was found and then everyone went after the finder.
Friday we played in the Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz game run by Pete Panzeri and a great time was had by all (as usual). Then in the evening we played in a fantastic Zombie game.
Saturday saw us defending humanity against the Martian horde where we successfully took back the outskirts of Memphis. And then Saturday night we opted out of a scheduled game to play our first game of Frostgrave (we had brought all the stuff and picked up a ruleset in the dealer's hall from Brigade Games).
We of course spent some time (and money) in the dealer's hall and flea markets, which both seemed a little sparse, but I still was able to spend a good bit.
Our Sunday game was cancelled, which I hate to admit I was actually relieved, so we hit the dealer's hall and flea market one last time before hitting the road.
Got hugs and thanks from the grandkids and a "can't wait till next year" and then grandpa got to take a long nap on the couch (after sorting through my booty) so a good end to a great weekend.
A big thanks to all the staff who put in hours of time to make Historicon happen.
Will try to post some pictures this evening
