This is a PSC 1/72 nd scale PZ IV H painted as 12 SS for Normandy.
As I said before quite an old kit but with the tiniest bit of work turns out rather well I think.
Usual bits of detailing done, drilled out exhaust added ariel on hull side ( forgot to remove the rotating ariel section on the other side of the hull just hid it lol).Added AA MG mount from MMS.
The gun is a little 'heavy' so thinned that down and the same with the schurzen brackets. Replaced the two part hatch with a more accurate one ( paper punch and some 20 thou plasticard) took out one of the schurzen panels and added a rail across the gap.
Usual paint job, base coat PSC dunkelgelb then Life colour german colours airbrushed with a Rich 200 in an ambush scheme. Gloss varnish and Decals, various makes, added. Panel washes mix of Humbrol and artists oils. Tracks humbrol base coat, highlighted with artists pastel metalics.
Matt varnish ( those sold by Figures in Comfort are brill)
then various layers of mud/dust/rust.

and ready to go.

I have 6 of these to paint up, guessing they won't look anything like this! :)
Superb work!

Great job(s) in all your recent posts on how very good fast builds can scrub up without too much extra effort.

The RB metal barrels fit the PSC stuff fine… Replaced all my PSC Panzer IV barrels with them.

Hello Piers,
Ta, just got the time to read the Blitzkrieg book, very nice indeed. A good read and serious pic fest :)
Really useful painting tips too.

Bonjour Leon,

Just been getting back into WW2 20mm and came across your splendid Panzer IV!

Very jealous.

Cheers,

Paul
