For those of you who may have missed it, July is 'He-Month', where Roger Webb and myself attempt to create 28mm representations of those iconic characters from our youth, the Masters of the Universe. Current progress and previous posts on this topic can bediscovered on our blogs, here; link and here; link Marvel at Roger's superior sculpting skills! Be intrigued by my "interpretations"! Be puzzled by our ramblings! Just go and have a look. |

Work is progressing nicely! I really like how Skeletor turned out. |

Eternia/He-Man could provide a really fun setting for Pulp (or Superhero?) gaming, but due to a dearth of figures ((He-Man is easy, the rest could be harder), so it's really fun to see your project. In times of real weakness I've thought a game with the new action figures itsalltrue.net/?page_id=2009 would be absolutely amazing, though at a good 7" tall, one would need a nice garden or gymn to play it in. They are incredible toys, though. Both your figures are looking wonderful--like Cloud I especially like Skeletor! I've bookmarked your site and will watch your future progress with interest. Thank you for sharing! |

Thanks cloudcaptain. Being a bit of a perfectionist, whilst he's 90% there, there's still some work to be done until I'm completely happy. On a related note, there is a chap on the Heroscapers forum who has constructed a 28mm Castle Greyskull, which is apparently 2' square. Can't provide a specific link, due to being at work, but if you go to the site: heroscapers.com and put 'castle greyskull' into the site's search engine, prepare to be astonished. It's rather good. I don't think I'll be going that far, but we might see a few more additions to my cast, as I really do feel I need a couple more 'Heroic Warriors' and I have a hankering to create my own version of Fisto – mainly because he's a daft character with a silly name. |

Thanks Daryl. It was Roger's idea, but it was an infectious one. I was quite surprised to discover that someone hadn't already done not-MOTU characters, so finding proxies was a fun exercise. Once you've bought into the MOTU setting, you'd be surprised how many models do look as though they should be on Eternia. However, it is slightly addictive, as you keep contemplating how to create specific characters or seeing a figure and thinking "that would make a good base figure for x." |
